I always thought my mother-in-law was just an ordinary, sick pensioner, until one day the police showed up and arrested her for a very serious crime 🫣
My mother-in-law always seemed like a model of intelligence and kindness to me. She was a woman with impeccable manners, spoke softly, never raised her voice, and always helped when needed.
She adored our children, spoiled them with sweets, told them stories, and spent hours babysitting them. I felt like I’d won a prize in life having such a mother-in-law—kind, smart, and calm.
So when a police car pulled up outside our house one morning, I didn’t even think much of it. I thought the neighbors had probably done something wrong again.
But when two officers got out of the car and headed straight for our door, my stomach turned cold. I opened the door, and one of them asked,
“”Anna Ivanova?”” “”No, it’s my mother-in-law,”” I replied, confused.
“”We need to talk to her,”” he said curtly.
My mother-in-law left the room, shaking, with a confused look, as if she didn’t understand what was happening. The officers immediately approached her, one pulled out handcuffs and said calmly,
“”Anna Ivanova, you are accused of dozens of serious crimes.””
I froze.
“”I’m an ordinary old pensioner, this must be a mistake.””
“”This must be a mistake!”” I screamed. “”She doesn’t even leave the house, she’s sick, she can hardly walk! You must have the wrong address!””
But the officers seemed not to listen to us. They led my mother-in-law to the car, and I stood in the doorway, unable to move. My mother-in-law turned around, looked at me with tear-stained eyes, and only whispered:
“”It’s not my fault…””
My husband and I immediately went to the police station, hoping to clear things up. But there we learned something terrible. 😲 Continued in the first comment. 👇
