South African police are probing shocking allegations against Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, the daughter of ex-President Jacob Zuma, and two others. She’s accused of tricking 17 men into joining Russia’s war in Ukraine, allegedly recruiting them as would-be bodyguards for her father’s uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party. The civil war in Sudan has brought about the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. Famine is widespread in several areas and more than 30 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. More than 150 000 people are feared to have died since the outbreak of war. Sweden is one of the world’s largest donors to Sudan, and is now donating an additional SEK 100 million in support through the UN World Food Programme (WFP) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) for humanitarian operations for the civilian population in Sudan. The White House said talks in Geneva on a plan to end Russia’s war in Ukraine were “focused”, “respectful” and “highly productive.” US and Ukrainian negotiators agreed that any future agreement must fully respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and deliver a just, lasting peace, according to a statement on the White House website.
