Racing Santander completed their second training session of the week today at the Campos de Sport de El Sardinero , where they will host Granada CF this Saturday, November 15th, at 9:00 PM. Villalibre , who scored in Las Palmas, was the focus of the press conference and said, “After a defeat, you always want to turn things around. It shouldn’t matter who we face; even though we train depending on the opponent, we always want the same result, which is to win .”
Regarding the match in Gran Canaria, the Basque striker acknowledged that “there are many variables beyond your control, and we focus on what we can do, but there’s another team in front of you that trains to win, and this time they outplayed us .” With self-criticism, he admitted that “ those of us on the field have to read the situation and change the game , and we didn’t know how to do it.” Like his teammates on previous occasions, he made it clear that “ the second half of the season is very difficult; any opponent can beat you .”
However, Villalibre conveyed his calm about the team’s current situation: “I’d be more worried if we were lower in the table. We’re in first place, and seeing ourselves up there creates excitement, generates a great atmosphere, and is something to be proud of .” He then pointed to the path forward: “We continue working every day to improve the things we’re doing wrong, which
is the goal.”
