The United States has officially lifted the 15% tariffs placed earlier in the year on cocoa and other key farm exports from Ghana, the African nation’s foreign minister confirmed this morning. This policy shift, effective as of November 13, 2025, follows a new executive order from US President Donald Trump. Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa confirmed the update on his social media, noting that the reversal could boost Ghana’s revenue by an estimated US$60 million annually. The policy reversal covers cocoa beans, cashew nuts, avocado, banana, mango, pineapple, coconut, ginger, peppers, and more. With Ghana exporting around 78,000 metric tons of cocoa to the US each year, it could be a game-changer for the economy. #DWAfrica
