A Christian group in Nigeria says 303 students and 12 teachers were kidnapped in the recent attack on St. Mary’s Boarding School in Niger state, where nearly half of the school’s 629 pupils were abducted. The updated figure—up from an earlier count of 215—follows a verification exercise by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).The attack came just days after 25 schoolchildren were kidnapped in neighbouring Kebbi state. No group has claimed responsibility, but authorities say tactical teams and local hunters are searching for the victims. Schools in Katsina, Plateau, and parts of Niger state have been closed as a precaution. The Catholic Diocese of Kontagora, which oversees Catholic institutions in the region, has denied receiving any security alert before the attack and called the alleged warning propaganda.#DWAfrica
