President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of police officers currently assigned to guard VIPs across the country. Moving forward, these officers will focus on their primary responsibility: protecting communities and maintaining law and order. According to the presidential directive, VIPs who require security will now rely on the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for well-armed personnel. This decision comes amid growing concern about inadequate police presence in many parts of Nigeria, especially rural areas. To strengthen security nationwide, the president has also approved the recruitment of 30,000 additional police officers, and police training facilities will also be upgraded nationwide. #DWAfrica
