President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of police officers currently assigned to guard VIPs across the country. Moving forward, these officers will focus on their primary responsibility: protecting communities and maintaining law and order. According to the presidential directive, VIPs who require security will now rely on the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for well-armed personnel. This decision comes amid growing concern about inadequate police presence in many parts of Nigeria, especially rural areas.
